Sup guys.. the coach for our football team here at school pulled me out of class today (he's the middle school principle as well), to ask me if I would like to be hired to take pictures of the football team next year and be their official photographer. I was like yes! So now I have 2 main priorities: save up this summer to get the 70-200IS 2.8 MK II + 1DsII. I'm still getting the 5Dc but I am going to need the AF of the 1DsII ad the reach of the 70-200 otherwise I will get the f/4 IS.

1. nice

2. Why a 1Ds2? I would rather have a 7D (for both af performance and APS-C), you will need APS-C if all you have is a 70-200 for range.

Nice!!! I'm going to be selling my 1D2 for a 1ds2 cause that's the only other camera that fits my water housing.

I do agree the 7D would be a better choice.

I'm just going to buy a 2x extender. I know it might not make sense but to be honest I don't want a 7D, I want FF for whatever I do. I might even use this camera for other things other than sports and to be honest I would much rather have the FF for it.

Let me know how you like the 1DsII. I don't know if in fact I am getting the 1DsII for sure but because the coach pulled me aside and told me he'd hire me (hopefully for some extra cash.. if not it's still pretty cool), I had to rethink my whole plan on what I wanted to buy this summer.

Yes, but the price of a 1Ds2 is almost as much as a 5Dc + 7D. Plus I am slightly curious why you are so fixated on FF I guess, FF is not the holy grail end all.

An extender is gonna hurt IQ, even the new Canon Mark 3's, just sayin :p

What about a 1Div?

Hope you iron out things with the coach and he treats you fairly.

True true.. I don't know I just realized that a 7D would make things a lot more cheaper then. I will be selling my 35L though eventually when the time comes so I can buy whatever camera I decide on and the 70-200.

I don't think he's treating me unfairly.. but I was just approached by him and he asked me if I could shoot for him and he'd hire me. But a 1DIV is too much money for me, I would be willing to shell out the same amount for a 5DMK II but nothing more really.
