Who can help me identify this camera? Beware, it's a Nikon

I believe it to be a Nikon F2, based on the results from the drive and battery pack, but I want to make sure.

What do you think something like this would be worth, body, lens, motor and battery pack?

Also, can anyone suggest an adapter to put that 50mm 1.2 on my 40d?

You're right - it's an F2!

It certainly looks to be all tricked out, motor drive, soft shutter release and LED meter. It must have been somebody's baby!

I'm not sure what a fair price would be, but some searching around the net should be able to put you in the ballpark.

The only caution I would have is to set aside some money for a CLA - these cameras were built in the '70s, and like anything mechanical, will need service (sooner or later). Sover Wong is supposed to be the tops when it comes to servicing F2's. (It's all he does.)

It belongs to my father in law. It definitely was his baby. Thanks for the info!

F2 all right. I used one of those for years. That one is in fantastic condition, looks like new. I think I've still got mine here, might be in a box in my shop but it sure doesn't look like that one.
