I split my time yesterday between Lock and Dam 13 and 14.
14 has the advantage of close proximity to the eagles and 13 is where all the eagles are hanging out.

I count 41 birds in this shot and may have missed one or two. My brother was scanning the far side of the river with his binoculars and counted 128 in the trees and about 30 circling over the river.

Wow-that's what it looked like at the salmon hatchery in Juneau, Ak. Might want to check around; maybe a clandestine fishing operation there-lol. Kinda wasn't what you were hoping for that day tho, was it?

I've been to 13 before so I knew what to expect. I stopped there so my brother could see a bunch of eagles. He doesn't care about photography, he just wanted to see them. And the Schafer Fish Store is right on the corner so I figured I had two reasons to go there first.

Nice, I saw a very similar sight at Conowingo, not right by the dam but on the other side of town where the powerlines cut into the trees. Crazy to see that many in one place.
