I didn't see anything last night. Perhaps you would have to go out a bit to see anything .

Half tempted to go to Mt Washington and surrounding areas for some night starry shots one fri or sat night. Anyone interested?

you could probably get away with anywhere in the North Conway area for starry night shots, my inlaws have a house up there and the night skies there are amazing. From the top of Cathedral Ledge would be a nice location that requires less than 100 yards of hiking in the dark.

no clue where that is. but sounds very far from Boston. I did go up Mt Greylock a few weeks ago. Pretty great sunset.

North Conway is about two and a half hours from downtown Boston, Mt Washington is about 30 mins further north

I'd be game for going up there - been meaning to do a northern night shot for a while now.

Anyone got an extender I could borrow next wed night? Going to the Liverpool vs Roma game at Fenway... 70-200 should be decent, but a little extra reach would be nice. I will happily buy a pint or several in return :D

You know your 40D is a free 1.6x extender. :)

If I had one I'd hook you up. Someone appears to be selling a sigma 1.4 for $90 on CL though..

Harm, I have a 1.4x one you can borrow. Let me know. I think Andrew says you work nearby. I'm at 125 High Street.

stupid post never went through -

Thanks for the offers, guys. Since Nathan is going to bring his in tomorrow, I'll try and test it out from him first. Even though I won't need it till the 25th, but a few days of practice will be good enough!

I believe I will be in North Conway the the 3rd-5th of August. Going to Bar Harbor for a short easy Honeymoon which we can bring her daughter on (and all my gear ;) ), then I think we are going to head to the inlaws weekend house up there when we leave Maine
