Nice, I've never actually seen one of those before. Must be a good feeling to see that in the mail.

@Riles - Glad that you weren't injured.

On a separate note, is the Spyder that Scott has mentioned the best for calibrating a monitor? I was editing a few quick snaps with the Sigma 35 to a point that I was happy with and when looking at them on a few different devices, I noticed that the color on a number of my photos look off.

Both my monitors are extremely out of calibration. I've learned how to edit my photos to look good on everything else but suck on my monitors hahaha

Yeah. :oops:

Next time one of us needs to buy something off of Craigslist we will all roll deep. 20 people to pick something up

Riles, wow sorry to hear what happened to you.

I agree, meeting in an extremely public place is the only way to go these days. Hell, even in front of a police station if needed. That may weed out those folks that stole stuff and are reselling it as well.

Yeah. The one time I didn't follow my usual protocol, too. Was walking toward a gas station in Brockton when the guy turned around and started probing me with his handgun. Fortunately I anticipated it about five seconds before it happened. Lucky for him I decided not to knee and head butt him because I was worried he might shoot himself. Bumbling fool. I'd rather lose about three months of savings than possibly seriously harm someone. If only I had been armed with my 1D3 and flash... :p

The police think I may have been his fifth victim. They told me to run him over if I see him on the street and that they'd take care of the rest.

That blows some serious donkey balls.

So have you given the police any email addresses used or would they be able to figure out any IP?

Sounds good to me, twenty or so people taking pictures of a would be thief should make a great deterant.

if the guy has half a brain (and he must because he was able to set up someone to think that he actually had a particular item for sale and was good enough to convince him to go to him with lots of cash) then I have to imagine he was smart enough to be doing his net browsing on burner phones..

Email and name were fake, but that didn't really surprise me. I use a fake account too for privacy. Phone number was through a free VOIP service.

In the last year I've had about forty Craigslist transactions, all of them very successful until Wednesday. I think I needed that slap to the face.

Still sucks though.

My brother was contacted about selling his car on one of the forums he visits. The guy just joined and said he take it at the asking price and would meet my brother at such and such address in Boston because he wasn't able to get transportation. When he told me about it I asked him where it was and he said it was in kind of a sketchy area(he's one of those warm and fuzzy bunny slipper types that lives in Never Neverland so for him to say it was sketchy it must have been a pretty sh**y area). I told him to message the guy back that I'd be tagging along to give him a lift home and not to worry about the guy who may be open carrying. The guy never did get back to him about buying the car.
