Craigs list is a great tool but sometimes you have to deal with a tool or two.
make sure its a place like dunkin's or a diner during lunch or dinner.

if I'm picking up something where I need a lot of cash I'm usualy carrying conceled as well.
you just never know these days.

I don't really have an interest in switching to a Mac. Only was going to get it because it was more powerful than my current laptop, and I could have essentially rented it for a year free before I upgraded again.

Scott... what have you learned about extreme cold shooting so far?

I told him to message the guy back that I'd be tagging along to give him a lift home and not to worry about the guy who may be open carrying. The guy never did get back to him about buying the car.

Lol... if I was a legitimate buyer, I'd then be worried from your communication that I'd going to be jacked up. Hahahaha...

I wonder if Craigslist has a different email address on file than the one you 'replied' to - i.e. he might have that sent to one email address that he actually uses, whereas he responds from a different one (I do this all the time). If that's the case, CL could hypothetically search for more threads by that email address and LEOs could potentially setup a sting that way..

Scott, looks awesome up there. I'd love to do that one day!

Riles, you said this happened in Brockton, but it's listed in Holbrook. How did you end up in Brockton?

I have a quick story about Brockton... one day i was sitting outside a Store24 or Tedechi's or whatever it was called. I'm waiting for a friend of mine in the store buying a drink. As i'm sitting there i notice a guy talking on the pay phone attached to the store.

About the same time, i see a taxi pull up. 5 guys get out of the taxi, with baseball bats. Beat this guy to a pulp, get back in the taxi and drive away. Yes, the taxi waited.

Strangest thing i've ever seen in my life. All my years in Dorchester/Roxbury/Mattapan, never seen anything like that.

Brockton was chosen due to it being closer to where he worked. Or so he said.

I would never buy a Mac from Craigslist.

The scene at PO Sq was pretty tame. More people were watching or taking pictures than actually taking part in the dancing. Doesn't bother me, I just wanted to see the lens in action.

Hmm, the one thing he probably didn't lie about. Could live there as well.

What environment did you meet him in? Was it near a landmark of some sort? I wonder if he's doing it again today to someone else. This isn't the sort of operation that one could do long term in the same area.

I wonder...

Based on the fact he made a VOIP call a few minutes before meeting me, I think he lived in one of the nearby houses. Definitely knew the area.

Or he's so organized that he had someone else make the call just as he was arriving.

How do you know it was over VOIP?
