Boston POTN Meet (2)

The only thing I miss about the car scene is autocross events. I tried to set my car up for it and was fun while it lasted. Here's my old "build" thread.

It was in pretty bad shape when I got it.

Sigma got back to me this afternoon. $190 to fix the lens. Not too bad I suppose. They need to replace the main barrel and something about "main pcb hsm repair front elements". I don't know what repair front elements means but I don't like it.

I agree... transit system in Boston is old, dirty, etc. It's an embarassment compared to other metros. But it takes you where you need to go.

I'll come if I can use the 400mm... while you're in Chicago *whistles*

(In reality though, I need to keep my weekends in May open for the time being, otherwise I'd go with ya, I mean, gerbils are people too, right?)

Mistabernie, Brandon - thank you! Decided to go with a 17-40 and sell it afterward. At least I won't have to baby a huge heavy lens on the dusty hills of South Spain... and I won't be called "my navy seal" by my husband anymore

I hear you, Harm... still mourning about public transportation back on the continent. Though it could be rather disgusting also, to be honest! Still have nightmares about the underground in London during the Olympics ))))))

Could you imagine the Olympics here, with the orange and green lines breaking down constantly?

I was out at Castle Island and swapping it from my 1D2 to the 5D2. I took it off and put it on top of my bag that was on a bench and the wind came and kinda took it for a ride.

Ahh. Lucky it didn't go "plop" into the waters!

I need to get out sometime and start taking photos again. Hibernation mode is over!
