I was there for the dumbest things. Modified exhaust, no front plate, and 85 in a 50. No need for a class :)

I'm trying out CPS equipment evaluation, figured it was a better shot than trying to rent something locally. If I can't get either the 135 or 85 from them I'm gunna rent still.

So i was watching the Velocity channel earlier and they had a thing on the Concorde. Then i had a memory of being a kid living in South Boston and i remember seeing it coming in for a landing near Castle Island once. Being a huge aviation enthusiast i was flipping out in the car.

When i told people i saw it, they all said that it was impossible. The Concorde couldn't land in Boston due to the runways. After some years, they actually convinced me that maybe i didn't actually see it and i believed them. To my credit, it was far away and a little hard to see, it was foggy that day...

Then i searched on it on Youtube : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=74zgfYYvUds (external link)

Turns out it has been here many times. WTH....

<Random Thought of the day.>

I saw it a few times in Newcastle, but many, many times in London. It would be amazing how many people would stop and turn around to watch it take off whilst you were walking to your gate.

I would love to see it back in action, but those pesky frenchies at Air France pulled the plug and that would have left all the costs on BA, which was just too much to bear.

Yeah at 12k per seat, it better look mighty fine. It flew at 50k feet @ mach 2. No other airliner can do that, even today.

2.5 hrs to NYC was their record. We had DJs playing one new years at parties we went to in London, it would be new years by a few minutes, they would go on a specially chartered flight to NYC and DJ at another club, and get a 2nd new years out of it too.

Pretty cool if you ask me.

Cool shots Harm. I know this question has been asked over and over but who do you guys use for equipment insurance? Last time I asked my insurance (Liberty) the guy sounded unsure about how I would get rider insurance for camera gear. Now I'm looking for a company who specializes in it.

I actually changed my home insurance - with geico, and they added all my camera stuff under a provision just for my camera gear. So they covered it all.

Esp since I am not a pro or anything like that. Now if I can get a stand alone insurance just for the stuff, that would be grand, but at least I am covered for now.

shop around. I did have originally, travellers ins when I was at the apartment - they were good, and cheaper than most places.

I'm happy with the rates for my insurance right now at Liberty for renters and auto but at the end of the year when my policy is up again I'm going to see if I can get a significant drop in rates with someone else.

I'm headed to Boston on the 21st. It's my third time there, but I'm looking for some "must have" locations for shots at sunset. I only have Wednesday evening to shoot as it's a work trip. If anyone wants to join me/act as tour guide that'd be cool. Beers would be on me. I'm staying at the Revere hotel. If not, then any recommendations would be appreciated!

James
