Hi all,
I have a ETTL speedlight (no manual controls) and would like to use it for lighting my macro shots. The question I have is this:
I see some cords listed as ETTL and the same looking ones listed as TTL.
What do you guys use? There are some very reasonably priced ones on eBay but that have differing designations and similar model numbers, will a TTL cord work just as well as an ETTL cord for off camera flash?
It's probably a very daft question, but I'm new to this flash malarky.
Cheers all,
Noel

I have been using this TTL cord from Jessops (external link) without problem for as long as I can remember

I recently purchased a Newton FR3 rotating flash bracket. You are probably wondering... what in the world does this have to do with my question. Well, I live close enough to Robert's shop, so I drove up there with my camera, etc. The FR3 works better if you use a shorter off camera flash cord. He recommended I get a 1.5 meter cord from B&H from a company called Vello. It was only $15 or so. B&H has a one meter cord for the same price as well.

They are made in china, like the ones you can get on eBay.... but it's nicer to order from B&H. You get it more quickly and customer service is available, should you need it. And btw, it is called a "TTL" cord but works just like my Canon OC-E3 which cost around $60. While I was making sure this post was accurate, I noticed Amazon now also carries the 1.5 Meter Vello cord.... interesting.

I would post the links but I end up posting too much of the info... or too little. It's easy to do... just type in Vello at either http://www.amazon.com/ (external link)

or www.bhphotovideo.com/ (external link)
