I'll stick with the Elph300! Great low light shots in restaurants...

AMusicAddict: thanks! Actually most of these shots on auto or programmed auto, the camera is still new to me. Some other shots as well:

I want to get the P310 but I'm still not convinced about the 16 MP :S

Looking at this:

http://snapsort.com …/Nikon-P300-vs-Nikon-P310 (external link)

The P300 seems to be the better camera, right? It even has Slow Motion which the P310 doesn't!

Another P310 owner around here?

Elph 500 HS is a nice cheaper alternative to the P310/300. F2 instead of f1.8 and it had a touchscreen, but they go for $180 or less.

you can install chdk on the elph 500 and get manual mode, raw, and then some. but of course, plenty of people do not want to install CHDK.

It has P, Tv and Av so you can control what you need to. I doubt that many people really shoot straight manual on cameras like these anyway. I don't, for sure. My LX5 is in P mode 90% of the time because I can't control DOF anyway due to the small sensor.

Point is that I don't think most people posting do realize that.

i noticed that the thread was started a few months ago. but plenty of threads are old and get revived because someone wants to discuss similar situations or topics. i dont see the problem.
