It has P, Tv and Av so you can control what you need to. I doubt that many people really shoot straight manual on cameras like these anyway. I don't, for sure. My LX5 is in P mode 90% of the time because I can't control DOF anyway due to the small sensor.

I actually do use full M mode a lot with the S100 (albeit I have only had it a couple weeks) simply because of the lack of exposure lock. I like to meter the sky and use the onboard flash for a little fill. Haven't used it much in low light.
