Wow...... It was gonna be a tossup between the 30 1.4 and that lens for my next purchase. Looks like I'll be going with the 17-50 for that price.

Now I just need BandH to finish processing my credit so I can spend it :)

Man, that's tempting.. I've been toying with the idea of going back to this instead of the 17-40, but this time around I may just keep it - use the 17-50 f/2.8 on the 7D and the 70-200 f/2.8 on the 5Dc and I think I have a pretty decent combo going.

Kinda glad this went on sale after I got my Tamron 17-50 because I don't have the money to buy the Sigma (but I would probably have gotten it anyways!)

Actually, Amazon itself is selling it still for $669. But Adorama, Abes, 17th St are selling it through Amazon for $594.

Great price on a great lens.

I'm looking to upgrade from my Tamron 17-50. Biggest pain point with this lens is the loud and slow AF.

How does the Sigma HSM compare to USM?

Amazon just dropped to 594 for Canon. Did you try asking for a pricematch?

Amazon only price matches on TV's (see link below). Something worth noting when you buy from them.
