Scam Email?

Yesterday I received an email with the title, "You won a Canon Digital Photo Camera." When I opened the email it had a link that showed as, try2get.net and the email came from sales@canon.com

I did not click on the link. Does anyone know if this is a scam of some kind?

Given I have never won anything in my life, I'd assume it's a scam.

First question, did you actually enter into any contest where the prize was a new camera? If not you really do have to ask yourself how the hell did I win it! Don't get sucked into the email address either, we get them all the time at work and the address seems legit till you bring up the options, then you'll find the return path is completely different.

I got that email, too. I deleted it. There's no way I was going to click on that link.

I wouldnt have even opened the email. Unless of course I had actaully entered a competition.

Got the same this evening, except the origin was from either a member or directly from fredmiranda.com.. Never entered any contest to win a canon camera..

I did however ask Canon directly to be given access to use and "abuse" one of their latest dslr's to see if would suite my liking.


The email is Most likely spam or phishing mail.

The header/sender info from the mail I recieved with the same subject/title..
