Using VSCO presets in CS4?

I'm on the verge of buying the VSCO Pro pack for ACR but I'm only using CS4/ACR 5.4, which according to the VSCO means the grain functions won't work properly. Is there a work-around, like adding noise/grain in PS afterwards?

I'm still keen to use the software it's just put a bit of a dampener on it so I'd love to hear from anyone using it with CS4/ACR 5.4. How do you get on with it and are you happy with the results?

I don't have CS4...

In LR3 there is An "Effects" panel where you can add grain -- does ACR have that tab in CS4?

Otherwise, in the Photoshop editor there is the Filter/Noise tool where you can "Add Noise" -- check it out!

The grain filter is only available in the later version of ACR (v.6 if i remember correctly?) which comes with CS5. I know all about the 'Add Noise' feature in PS, which is what I'd use if I do plump for the VSCO pack. I was just curious about how people use it without the grain, does it even bother them or am I making a big deal out of nothing lol.

I had intended to switch to LR for my RAW editing but I've gotten to a stage with ACR that I'm happy and comfortable with it so I'm going to stick with it for now. The VSCO presets are bought specific to the software they are intended to be used with, so if I buy it it'll be ACR specific.

Are you saying that you do have Lightroom, or were you just considering it? Lightroom 3.x has the same version of Camera Raw that CS5 has, and together with the Grain function LR3 has improvements in things such as Noise Reduction, but of course it costs, and if you are happy with what you are using more power to ya!

Just considering it, but I'm sticking with ACR for now
