How am I flash synching at over 1/200th on 5dc

If I switch to the "H" button on my 380ex, I can get a flash image all the way to 1/8000th second. I thought these things only synched to 1/200? I know there is a logical explanation for this.

Also how the hell am I firing A-TTL EZ flashes in TTL on this thing? They are over-exposed like hell unless I stop down to f16 but I can do it

The spec for this flash says it is eTTL capable and H stands for high speed sync. This is how you get past the 1/250th sync speed.

Also it probably wouldn't hurt to read the instruction manual that came with your flash unit.

The EZ flash units aren't compatible with digital cameras. In TTL mode they will fire at full power. But the ones that have a manual mode will work in manual mode fine. More info on camera/flash compatibility here:
