I had a bit of a thrill the other day when I swapped cards mid shoot ( both had Magic Lantern on them) only to find my Magic Lantern preferences all disappeared.

It was a new card and, while having formatted it and loaded ML, I hadn't used it aside checking ML worked.

A bit of a pain as I had to shoot with what I had until I got the chance to reset my preferences. After the shoot I went through all of my other ML cards to do the same, so I wouldn't get caught again.

Noting that our preferences change I was wondering if hot swapping carries the preferences over? I've not tried this yet.
