Hello. I just found out last night (maybe it has been like that since I bought it used) that my 135L is acting up when autofocusing. The lens is trying to focus on a subject less than 5 feet away. When I turn the focusing knob to at least 10 feet, the lens tries to focus back but gets stuck at 5 feet and doesnt focus at the subject.

Has anyone experienced this?

Check your limiter switch... The lens can be set in two positions. Make sure you have it on 0.9m to infinity, and not 1.6m to infinity (1.6m ~ 5ft). So I am 99% sure this is the problem.

Having this option allows faster AF when you know you do not need to focus at close distances. The 135L is so fast though I just always leave on .9m to infinity.

Easy fix... Not much to troubleshoot :)

I will check that as soon as I get home. Thanks for the suggestion.

Right next to the AF-MF switch on the 135L. A number of lenses have it, especially macro to both speed up shooting and prevent hunting.
