Superb detail in those shots Steve. I don't blame you getting up early, I would too if I had the chance to use a 500mm! Have you decided to buy that lens yet? C'mon, you know you want to!
Haha Mark, I'm not so sure that little devil sitting on my left shoulder doesn't share your name -
Thanks for the comments.

Congrats on the lifers Steve! And great photos to add them to the list too!
The WTS is still eluding me. I often hear them but just not much luck capturing one.
I appreciate it Fee. I laid out a plan and for once it worked nearly to perfection

ISO1600. It does look as though you applied some noise reduction on the birds, but there's still quite a bit of detail left and I think they look great! Plus that early morning light is so wonderful and it shows in these shots. The colours are beautiful. And how well they posed for you! Congrats on these, Steve.
Many thanks Levina for your compliments. I might have tweaked the Luminance a tad higher, but that's the only NR I ever use.

Congrats on these firsts. These are the kind of shots that get me through these miserable rainy days and a camera that doesn't appreciate getting a bath

Yes RWAC, like hitting a good golf shot it'll keep ya coming back. Thanks for your comments.

Nice job. Lifers always great fun. Can you send some of that cool weather down. Been 80's the past few days.
Haha Pauhana, I'd love to send some cool your way but I'm not through w/it.
I appreciate your taking the time to comment.

A "lifer" always puts a "jump in a photographers step" Steve... lovely birds the WTS, that second shot is my favorite, happy you could capture him with such nice BGs... and the juncos are also such sweet birds, nice shooting.... frigid at 48? hmmm

Dave
I knew you'd like the temp comment Dave; it's only 90F different from your recent outdoor adventure -
. Thanks for your very nice comments too.

I love that second WTS. It's clear that these birds were attracted to that long lens. Think what'll happen when you buy it!

Thanks Ian, and it's funny you should say something about lens attraction.....my Red-bellieds hate it -

Nice images with great detail.
And grats on new species on your list.

I appreciate it Kris. These will keep me coming back for more.

Congrats on the lifers Steve. It is exciting to see a new bird. The WTS was a bird I wanted to see and eluded me until a couple years ago when I spotted a single WTS. It was in a distant bush at a nearby park. Now surprisingly we have had several show up on our backyard feeders this winter.

I've known they were here Brad, but catching a capture is a whole nother ball game as you know. Thanks for your complimentary comments.
Thank you Kenny; glad you stopped in.

Great shots Steve! Its nice when you can add to the list. Well done. Dark eyed Junco's are pretty common up here. White Throated sparrows...less so.
These are a nice addition Craig as they're only here in the winter; and thanks for your very nice comments.
