Take the 7d and one of your assorted lens.

If you are in a balcony you are in for some great shots. If not then go top side (Lido or above).

It will rain. Take some rain gear for your camera.

Tdredi,

I'm also going on a cruisetour late May with Princess 13day (7sea/6land) and I too am hoping for lots of photo ops. I'm taking my EOS Rebel XSi with a Tamron 18-270 DiII VC PZD and a small point and shoot for backup. Have a great time on your trip!

New guy here. Wife and I are going on a 12 day land/sea cruise with Princess May 30 to June 11, 2012.

Just ordered a new Canon T3 w/ 18-55 mm and Canon 75-300 mm zoom. Although not a professional outfit, I'm sure it'll deliver. :)

I think it depends how active you plan to be on your cruise. If you're getting out and about and off the ship, my suggestion is to take lenses that will suit your port excursions. If you plan to see bears or go on a whale watching tour, obviously a telephoto lens is ideal. If your cruise takes you to Buchart Gardens in Victoria, I enjoyed using my macro lens. If you're in the Inside Passage and have a day at the glaciers, a wide angle lens will get you a great shot. There are sooooo many wonderful opportunities for pictures both out in nature and through the culture/people of each port, you'll never run out of photo opportunities. There is no way you will be able to see or do everything so pick the excursions that will tie into your greatests interests.

Wife and I are going on our second cruise to Alaska May 15th on Norwegian up the inside passage. Last year on the same trip, I took along a T1i, 18-55, 70-200 f4 and a nifty-fifty. I had the 18-55 mounted most of the time with a few shots taken with the 70-200. This year, I'll be taking my 7d, 10-20, 15-85 and a 100-400. I expect the 15-85 will be used the most but we're scheduled for a catamaran excursion from Juneau up the Tracy Arm to the Sawyer Glacier where the 10-20 and the 100-400 will get used alot.
