I recently pulled the trigger on a MP-E 65mm, and haven't actually had a chance to play until this morning. To give you a bit of context, it's been raining for the past few weeks. which has seen little critters stumbling across our alfrasco. Anyhoo, enough jibber jabber, and here are my first (ever) attempts at macroing. I used a 580 EX II + 7D + 65mm @ 3x magnification (if I recall correctly) / f11. To make the background look prettier, I managed to lure the critters onto a leaf. Please CC :)

Fantastic shots. I am impressed (but slightly miffed that I can't get that quality).

They're all excellent shots, especially for a first attempt. The only critique I can come up with is that the lighting on the first one leaves the detail a bit hard to see, but that's only nit-picking.

You say you lured them onto a leaf. How did you do that?
