Hi - just wondering what will the CMOS digic 4 bring to my shots what the old CMOS in my current 350D has?

Looking at getting a 60D rather than the 600D cos that dial on the back looks cool. Does it make using the camera better than the old 4 direction pointer?

If you'll pardon me for WWGD, there is an interview with Canon about the changes between the two here:

That is "from the horse's mouth" so to speak...

Does it make the camera better? Hard one to call, I like it but I bet if enough people read this you'll find the opposite.

I would worry less about the processors buried in the cameras, and more about about what you find as a shortcoming with your Rebel XT, like ISO performance, AF speed, AF points, FPS, etc.

Many find that the dial is better overall ergonomically, but then again an avid Rebel user really doesn't seem to mind the buttons. If you move from your XT to the 60D, it will a pretty large jump up overall, feature, performance, and ISO.

@Syburn - when I was shooting my son's football games a father running an XTi and 430EX vs. my T1i with no flash noticed a major difference between the IQ of the shots the two of us were getting after sunset. This was in camera with no processing, though I guess it could be argued we should have gotten together later to compare them afterwards. This is also anecdotal, not really a "real" comparison in its way.

It's very hard to make an apples to apples comparison just because of the DIGIC processor. Usually Canon pairs up a new processor with a new sensor and that can make a bunch of difference together.
