#1. It's Prime lens in contrast to the 70-200mk1 or mk2 f/2.8 which has more flexibility and lovely bokeh to boot?

For under 750 used, nothing can beat it for its value.

I love the fact that in the crescent moon shots you can see the faded outline of the rest of the moon. Makes it especially magical, IMO.

Hey guys, I have a question and I hope this is the correct place to ask.

Since the 135L is a zoom lens, has the lack of image stabilizer affect hand held shooting for you guys?

Its not a zoom lens. Zoom means a lens capable of more than one focal length. This is a prime lens (one focal length). I think you mean its a telephoto lens. It hasnt mattered for the way I use it most often, outdoors with fill flash. It would be nice to have, but its not a deal breaker for the quality you get for the price.

Gah, so sorry about the mix in terms. Yes I meant telephoto.

I just pulled the trigger on the lens by the way, and the IS just popped in my head.

Keep your shutter speed at or above 1/160th and you shouldn't have a problem.

At f2 or so with most cameras you can get hand holdable speeds in most light and a reasonable ISO. You'll love the way this lens renders images, sharp wide open and soft creamy backgrounds.

I like the leaves and b/w shots of your fiance, but the color shots of her look a little washed out or flat. If you have photoshop, just a nudge in curves and/or the hue/saturation adjustment tool will work wonders.

My sister, the professional baker and cake decorator once told me that my camera takes great pics. My reply was that I thought her oven baked great cakes.
