The shutter speed would be around 1/1000 to 1/2000. Maybe it's my 5D II inferior focusing or the lens, but it's a hit or miss when shooting at f/2. It's very frustrating.  F2 if you are up close is pretty shallow, its pretty easy to miss focus, especially if you are trying to focus recompose. Did you micro adjust the lens to your body?
