Very nice work Daniel, really like that last one and the one with Azul in the doorway. You've got a keen eye.

Thank you Sir!

This shot is overflowing with awesomeness, Daniel. The framing is perfection and the background and foreground are a masterpiece. But the highlight is the great pose she's striking. Was this something you told her to do or did she come up with it? It shows off her curves very nicely without seeming obvious or forced. It's playful but not droll. This is where I'd be lost. I could be standing there with this model in front of me and not have a clue about how to get her to pose.

Thanks a lot! Truth is I work together with the models, I shoot many many photos and I move them a lot, I make them move by themselves and then I adjust this and that. In this case I told her to lift the leg and to lean back so I could see all her hair fall.

Alright so here were my last two days of 366, super happy with both so I figured I would throw them up here. Both using a 135L in there. The first one just the HD photo was using the 135.....

So what your seeing in today's photo is a number of things.....Me being excruciatingly bored at my desk, my workspace, as well as the hard drive that was the cause of my demise today. Today was format day, and on format day all hell breaks loose. I had been planning to format my Mac for quite some time now and had been putting it off. With me being on March break I figured now a better time then ever, was I ever wrong.... The 3TB USB3.0 HD you see in the photo looked amazing on paper when I was at the store, 10x faster then usb apparently! Well what they didn't mention is how uncooperative they are with Macs. I had nothing but issues and will be returning the harddrive today after all my back-up is done now that the format is complete.

_____

So today I woke up to an unexpected phone call......after picking up and beginning to regain consciousness I realized it was good buddy and classmate Joe Pelow looking for a quick favor. He had planned his mothers birthday gift to be a portrait of himself but unfortunately WalMart's processing time was ridiculous....then he realized, I have access to a photographer! 20 minutes, 1 shower, 1 glass of orange juice later Joe was at my house and we were shooting. I had come up with this concept that I used today a little while back when I was shooting some models against my black backdrop and they're heels just demolished the paper which is expected. I thought, how could I use this to my benefit.......BAM, here was the finished product. We also took another one with different gel colours used as well, this was the most badass one.

Another win? Looks like she's ahead but not enough lanes showing to know. But hey, look at that form! Always a winner in my book Surferman! ;)
<----high fives my little niece, great job!

Dude, my quest has taken an unexpected turn. I was waiting for the 5D3 and fully expected to get it but the price point knocked me off. So I was prepared to get the 135 and 35 to go with my 7 and 5D2, right? But my 7's pics are all soft and I don't want to go into a wedding season with it, so ended up scoring a used 1Ds MkII! I'll be looking for the green to add the 135 to this though, you can be sure! With all the pics here, I don't see how I can do without it for too much longer! :) In the meantime, I'll try to put my 100L to good use.

First outing with my new 135L at a roller skating party. It was sooooo dark in there.

First spring soccer game with my new 135L. Whole heck of a lot sharper than my sigma 50-150 2.8 II. Loving the narrow depth of field and bokeh.

This is straight out of the camera jpeg. I'm surprised how the blue color pops!

Ha, knew you would recognize her! She was swimming with the big dogs today in the PNW regionals. This ain't no local race (just happen to be here in Boise!) Only a couple 6 year olds made the cut. This said, she was the youngest in her event. It was a bit humbling to her, but a great experience nonetheless. Three more events tomorrow to give it another shot. I'll chime in with an update. However, when she is the older one in the group in a few years she will be killing it!

Sounds like you know what you are doing with your quest. I don't even want to look at the 1D's. You be contributing before it's all over.
