Anyone help me out?

In landscape orientation maybe 30-35 ft. and in portrait 20-25 ft. In the photo below I'm at the very edge of the field. From where I'm standing to the white hash marks on the field behind the girls is 53' 4" according to the interweb search I did. Hope this helps.

The Dimensional FOV Calculator (external link) confirms P_Elting's numbers almost exactly.

Thanks Daniel, food for thought

Search for an app on your droid or iphone called "DOF Calculator"

http://play.google.com …?id=com.aimenrg.dof&hl=en (external link)

Awesome app to help calculate DOF and get a feel for how distance affect wide open F/. Very very cool app!

I use dof calculator app all the time and didn't realise one of the other screens showed subject heights at the set focus length and lens size. Thanks!

How do you achieve that effect in PP? Would you mind to tell?

I love it!

Probably tone curves and mappings. There are wonderful YouTube tutorials, and you should check them out.

Try setting tones to linear, put in 3-5 points including ends, and play with it. Then warm up the photo. Should get you fairly close to picture style.
