I've decided this will be my next lens. The wife already OK'd the purchase after seeing some sample shots. Granted, it will mainly reside on her camera as my 70-200 will pull most of the duty for portraits/weddings/etc. Now the question is, do I buy now or wait for the rumored 135L IS?

Or the rumored Sigma 135 1.8 OS! ;)

Buy the existing 135L. You won't regret it. It's a great lens.

My thoughts! I feel I could really use IS/OS on this lens. This would would help when trying to keep below max sync speed when using flash. Plus 1.8 on 135mm...Oooooo....:D

I've tried using the 135L at 1/200 and below for OCF stuff and I have a hard time with it. But as we've seen by Dankata's photos, HSS can produce amazing results. I reach for different lenses now when I'm trying to stay under max synch speed. But for natural light shots where I can get my SS up, the current 135L is awesome!

Buy this first gen now and resell when/if the next gen comes out. Like most have said, you won't regret it. That is, if you don't mind a prime.

This thing is just killer for action photography. First one is of me with my buddy manning my 1DM3 and the 135, I wasn't sure of his focusing prowess so I opened it up to f5.6 and I'm glad I did, second pic I took of him at f2.8.

It is two shots stitched together...the huge cruise ship on the left is in town for the Super Bowl...it's a VIP only place...lot of people staying on it for the game.
