You could well have done. I was lurking around Druids (infield and outfield) most of the day.

Some nice shots there. If I were to criticise anything it would be that some of the crops are little too tight. Sometimes you need to give a car room to move into... as an example, your Audi shot works well whilst the "Beechdean" Ferrari looks a bit crampled. Good work though!

Cheers peeps, I'll have a play with PS when I get home and see if I can get something a little better. The pics I've seen from others have so much more 'pop' to them.

This is the exif that goes with the Audi (one of those I thought was dark), maybe someone can comment on any obvious wrong doings ?

Focal Length 300 mm
Exposure Time 1/160 sec
Aperture f/14
ISO Equivalent 100
Exposure Bias -1
White Balance (-1)
Metering Mode matrix

Dave...I'll say hi next time round :)

I know some dislike these type of shots as much as pans but what the heck!

I think f14 may be the mouse in the machinery Marc! even though it's a relatively slow shutter that to me is a bit small, given where the sun was at that time of day. Also Exposure Bias -1 will under expose a bit.

Were you shooting manual or shutter priority (Tv mode that is!)?

The sun is coming from top left as you look at the Hesco 911, you're shooting the unlit side, that's why it looks dark.

Nice shots :D seems there was a lot of PoTN members about getting their last fill of motorsport for the year ;)

I wonder with the "darker" shots about the exposure lock ( I'm no expert, far from it) but on my 20D I set function 4 to 4.3 so the camera didn't meter the exposure until I actually fired the shutter......with bright sunshine and lots of shadows around Druids that might have been an issue ??
