I went on another hike/shoeshoe in the high country today. We had some pretty good snow yesturday, so the mountains were VERY white. You just can't beat the high country after a fresh snow. It was dark and cloudy/foggy all day, but I think a few of these turned out ok :D

These were shot with my new (to me) Takumar 135mm F3.5 Preset, mostly at F11.

Nice!! Stark contrast to the little amount of snow at the Great Sand Dunes (was there on Saturday).

very nice shots. I really like the first one. The sun trying to break through, and lighting those peaks in the middle ground really works well.

Such detail and incredibly sharp! I often find it difficult to get that type of clarity from clusters of trees. Your technique, whether in-camera, in post, or both is spectacular to get the most from your shots!

Great series! Besides your obvious talent and skill in photography, it also goes to show that clearing storms is a GREAT time to be out in the field!

I'd be more than happy if my photos turned out that "ok." ;) I really liked #1 -- just an incredible mood to it.

Thanks. The day was very overcast with clouds/fog and snowy skies. I liked how the light was trying to come through the clouds on this late in the day shot. Some PP was done to make it look how it looked at the time the photo was taken.

It was almost a surreal evening in the high country.

Thanks. Yeah, we had about a foot in Loveland and about the same in the park. It was cold but made for great photography!

Thank you. That was my favorite of the day as well. You don't get light like that very often ;)

Thanks Rick, that shot was almost directly into the sun. That 50 year old lens did pretty good, especially with no to little coatings on it.

Thanks. My new Takumar 135mm F3.5 Preset really surprised my with how sharp it really was! These were the first photos I took with this lens and I was blown away when I seen it on my screen at 100%. The sharpness was outstanding and the color was spot on.

I still can't believe I won this lens for $20.00.

As for the trees, I have that problem sometimes as well. The snow definitely helps make each individual tree stand out. I also use around a 1.8 radius in the sharpening, and bump detail sharpening up in PP before converting to jpeg.
