I just got a background stand with a few muslins, and got to try it out on my 7-month-old daughter and 2-month-old son, who were... mostly cooperative. :)

Please critique, as I'm trying to get into doing this as a second career, so I'd love feedback on what you like and what you don't like! Thanks for looking!

The lighting looks good in these to me.

Your crops are a little too tight in general for this type of shot, missing fingertips and hands . A little more space would have improved four of them for me. The second shot looks like the best of the bunch.

Good call on the crop. The first one was actually intentional because my wife was holding her hand, but I agree the others could use some more breathing room.

If you have enough room between your subject and the backdrop you could have your assistant (wife) lay down out of sight and hold up your daughter from behind her. The problem with this is that your daughter will wonder why mommy is laying behind her and look over her shoulder :)
