Hello,
I need (no, i don't think i need, but i want), an UWA on my 7D for weddings. So, which one do you recommend, and why?
Thanks

I voted for the Tokina. I bought mine because I thought it was a better value.

Tokina is faster (f2.8)
Tokina is cheaper (a few hundred dollars)
Tokina was built better
Canon has better range.
Canon may have better flare control (I dont 100% remember, but I think so).

To me, the other factors were more important than the range.

Thanks, Bryan. How about AF speed and accuracy?

When I shot crop I liked the 10-22 because 1mm is fairly signifigant when it's that wide and 22mm (35mm equivalent) is nice to be able to zoom out to for reception portraits.

But both are well liked so you probably can't go wrong. I loved my 10-22 though.

I agree, the range is quite a large difference, but I cant imagine shooting f5.6 at 22mm. Its just way too limiting for my style.

I only use OEM lenses these days, I've found them federally more reliable. Though tbh I never found Canon zooms that great I found other brands worse.

The Tokina 11-16 2.8 is a well known and respected lens. That is where my money would go.

The 10-22 is F/4.5 at 22mm. That said, I'm really glad my 16-35L is 2.8 throughout though...

My mistake, and I know its a great lens. Being at 4.5 is actually a lot better than 5.6, and Lloyd does great work with it, as I am sure you do. I think as everyone has said, either lens is a great bet. I think the main questions it comes down to is what is more important to you - range or speed.
