Here are a few photos I took recently of my schools fencing team. The gym was kind of dark so I used strobes to make it a little brighter. I wanted the wall in the background to look completely black so I didn't bounce the light off the ceiling for that reason. I used two strobes bare bulb on the far left and right. The center strobe had a beauty dish attached to it. I used the beauty dish to limit the reflection on the wall over an umbrella or bare bulb and had an assistant rotate it with the fencers.

I used 3 lens for these images, 100-400,24-70, and 10-22

Cool, thanks for posting! I love seeing the Olympic sports that are away from the mainstream. I'm not sure how I would shoot it nor how to improve what I see, but thank you for sharing! I love #1. Would love to get the chance to shoot this myself.
