Hi all

this is my take on the Britcars et al at Brands yesterday. I did my best brass monkey impression and had a go with the 70-200 f2.8 with some nice results - it's a much sharper lens (and rightly so) than anything I own.

here goes...

nicely turned out 911 up at Druids - taken with the 135-400

Escort WRC exiting Druids, quite like this angle

Ex Touring Car A4 by the looks of it at Clearways - very very quick car this, and NOISY too! was leading by a fair margin but fell off at Clearways then disappeared a few laps later
IMAGE: http://images14.fotki.com/v244/photos/1/105162/2879942/191105337-vi.jpg

Busy at Clearways - the A4 is lapping the E36 and JDM Civic

Now I know some of you don't like pans but I do. It's not hard to do and I like pans with either interesting backgrounds (lakes, mountains, naked ladies - that kinda thing) but pans that just give an element of speed with an uncluttered background do something for me. Taken with the 70-200 and straight out of the camera.

The Audi again coming into Clearways - 70-200 again

First lap "action" in the Britsport "race". The cars look good though

When this came out I though "what the hell is that abortion?" then I heard what it sounded like and saw that it was devastatingly fast.

FIRE!!!

Same car at Clearways - 70-200 again, with a little bit of poking with the magical Adobe stick

once I've uploaded some more I'll post the link up.

not sure how I'm going to fill my weekends now, until February/March time....!

So where's the pan with the naked lady in the background then ?

Some nice shots there Dave, i like both shots of the A4, it definitely looks ex-BTCC to me too.

I take it you're happy with the new toy then?...bit of a weighty beast compared to the 135-400 isn't it ? ;)

Well done Dave, nice shots. I have the Sigma 70-200 ..heck of a lens for the £££. Although I tried to make the most of my 300mm yesterday.

Gonna get hold of a 1.4 tele in the new year I think .

Love the pan of the Porsche BTW :)

thanks chaps :)

Geoff - yeah the Sigma seems to be a cracking bit of kit. I took some shots with it towards the end of the day and they seem to be nice and light. As for the weight, yeah it's quite heavy for handheld panning! A bit heavier than the 135-400, aye.

Nice work Dave. I like the Audi at Clearways (#3) and "Steve" at Druids.
Have to agree about the Focus - not subtle but seemed very quick.
