I'll be buying a new monitor in the near future and would like some opinions
on the Dell U2410 vs Asus PA246Q. Also any suggestions for other 24" monitors in the $500
price range would be appreciated. Thanks

I'm in a similar market also regarding an upgraded monitor. The Dell U2410 has been around for a little while and is highly regarded with many positive viewpoints. I'm strongly leaning towards it. The ASUS is newer, although that company produces many fine products. I don't believe there's much of a track record for that particular monitor yet, and it may be their first IPS device in that price range.

Have you read the reviews on http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/ (external link) ? They tend to be quite good.

I don't find monitors as critical as most people. Get something decent, calibrate it, do some test prints, and you'll be fine.

I have the ASUS PA246Q and I love it. Can't offer any questions about comparison with the Dell Ultrsharp because I have never used one, but the ASUS has great IQ. Really it is your choice, whatever you feel comfortable with, but I will tell you this, as soon as I have a few more $$, I will buy a second ASUS to give my a dual system.

Cheers,

WesternGuy

Thanks everyone. I found some good head to head comparisons and things came out a draw.
I'm leaning towards the Dell because of more inputs and I can add a speaker bar.

Do you have those comparison links halitime?

Westernguy, how was your calibration experience with the Asus?

Asus PA246Q vs Dell U2410 on www.digitalversus.com (external link)

On the Asus a person can switch form one input to another, ie computer to TV.Can this be done with the Dell or is it just picture in picture / split screen with different pages from the computer?
