I have to say, based on this IS/VC test, I'm sold! The keeper rate should be much improved.

Just saw someone posting samples from his newly arrived 2470VC on a Chinese forum:
http://forum.xitek.com/thread-776940-1-1-1.html (external link)

Note that the thread is dedicated for both 70-300L and the new 24-70VC.

Good find (odd that they have a thread for those, and the thread runs backwards but whatever)

The sample he posted of the VC working at 1/6th is pretty impressive, and sharpness of the flowers he posted looks really good too:

Flip this to switch between forward and backward mode. It's on the top-right of the page.
He claims that the image can stay steady 1/6s @70mm, similar to my brief experience with the lens on a recent photography equipment show in Beijing.

essentially not as fast as nikon and canon, but good.

So it already loses to the 10+ year old Canon design in one respect... what next? ;)

I'm sure more than a few will be popping pics up as soon as today.
I didn't order next day air so Monday is the expected delivery date...unless they accidentally deliver it tomorrow ;)

Ugh, that is bad news. For those of you who get your hands on it I'd like to see more examples of f/2.8 @ 70mm.
