Soon I'm going to buy new camera and i want to make serious effort to make money with photography. I'm going to do whatever will be possible, and I'm sure this will include : cheap weddings, assisting at weddings, real estate photography, event photography, portrait photography.

None of these is my main goal as i want to become fine art/photojournalism photographer, but this is not my concern at this moment and anything will be great for beginning.

However, there is my problem. So far I've been considering d7000, but fuji x-pro1 also seems to be great option.

Fuji is much, much better as a "personal" camera, but little worse than as a professional camera.

It's very important to me to have camera most of the time and to be as much intimite as possible, but I'm afraid it may limit my professional possibilities.

I can't afford both cameras.

What do you think?
And would you have problem with hiring assistant with x-pro1?

Answering to this post lets assume that fuji x-pro1 will be as great as it is assumed.

A good photographer is who he (or she) is not because of the camera...

I think the Fuji limits you with it it's small lens selection, but personally I'd be more interested in the samples that you have to show than what camera you used to get them.

I can actually see the validity of a camera like that at, say, weddings because you could be the sleeper 'tog. If everyone assumes you're just a guest you could probably get better candids. You'd have to be able to keep up with faster paced part of the day though too. If the camera gets in your way, I'd say shelve it and get something better suited.

Digital SLRs aren't the end all, be all but you do need to be properly equipped.

Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here (external link). Cursing at your worse-than-a-map reflector? Check out this vid! (external link)
