According to all the reviews I've seen, it is a very nice lens, but not quite as good as the L. Previously, it has been priced the same as or higher than the superior L lens. Sigma does make excellent macros, so I wouldn't have any qualms going this route if I were in the market for a new one.

I've not been able to find any substantial ones, and none which compare it to the L. -Tom

What significant advantages does the L have over this one. "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil"

The Full Res sample images look pretty good. I was about to pick up a 100 2.8, at this price I think I'll give this lens a whirl. Lore
