Noticed you sold the Mark III for the A7R...very interesting. http://www.jamilabbasy.com

The dynamic range, resolution and sharpness I get from this sensor is just too good to resist. The RAW-files are rich and super clean, no matter how much I push and smash them around in post processing. Sony A7R * 70-200 2.8L II * 24-70L II * Samyang 14

And manual focus is easy as pie thanks to focus peaking and focus magnify in the EVF. The only ting I truly miss from the 5D3 is the ergonomics, but its not a biggie. ![]() That's really interesting. If you keep a Canon body too, you could have the best of both worlds. I don't really use AF any when doing landscapes on the tripod. Focus peaking would make MF focusing for best DOF even easier. http://www.jamilabbasy.com

I've been using the a7r w/Canon lenses and focus peaking for portraits too. Once you get the hang of it, provided you're not dealing with subjects in motion, manipulating the focal plane with the focus ring can actually be faster than toggling AF points and waiting for the AF to lock. Plus the dynamic range of the sensor is much more forgiving of high contrast light...makes working with natural light much more practical, as I can get a good exposure on my subject without worrying as much about blowing out the background. I basically only need flash when I don't have a flattering light source to paint on my subject. focalpointsphoto.com
