Can you please offer some insight for me?

I'm a prime junkie. 24 50 85 200 L's.
But I've recently picked up some work for a concert series and can really use a zoom.
I am right on stage or first row, so the 24-70ii has become the target of my desire.
I really can't justify owning all of these lenses, if I add the zoom.

I am thinking about selling my 50 1.2, which I use as a toy, for pleasure events... to keep my 85L safe at home (i save it for paid gigs).
I only use my 24L for car events.
Should I consider selling the 24 and 50L's and just go with 24-70Lii and 85L and 200L?
Obviously, it's subjective, and nobody knows for SURE, how to advise others.
But I'm curious if anyone has done something similar to this transition.

I did sort of a similar route but did not have the nice lenses you have. I had a 50 1.4 and a 24-105 F4. I had been looking for a landscape lens around the 24mm length for a few years because the 24-105 really sucked at 24mm. A great lens besides that.

I rented both the 24 TSE II and Zeiss 21mm. I figured for the price the TSE's novelty may wear off as I'm really in tinkering a lot. The Zeiss has a bit if moustache dist and with no auto AF a pretty steep price for me. Both very good lenses. I can't remember why I decided not to pursue the 24L.

I held off until the 24-70II came out. The best lens was the TSE and the 24-70 does not compete but it is pretty good for my landscape needs. I sold the 50 and 24-105. Sold my Tokina 11-16 as well as now my FF is my landscape lens. That 50 1.2 is a nice fast lens so you are loosing there. More challenging to work with regarding DOF.

All in all I'm really happy with the move I made. Even though I have not really noticed it as much as I thought I would IS would have made it real sweet.

So as you said I can't give you any advise, just my experience. I hate changing lenses so I'm kinda a zoom junkie although I know better.

This did it for me. 2.8 @ 24mm

They are family to me, so I will miss them, but I think I can handle it.

I know what you mean. I hate selling them. I had the 85 1.8 too at one time as well. If I had an unlimited cash flow I would still have the first lens I purchased. Next to the Canon display rack would be my Nikon collection then Leica and so on

Is this lens good enough to justify upgrading from 24-70 mk i ? I heard it is better sharpness wise, however is it visible with 100% size or when printed on photo paper.

They both quality must be good. I just considering is Aperture. I love f1.2 when low light.

is the image quality better than sigma 35 ?
