A lot of it will depend on if I can find someone willing to do some cross system trading. As I told you quite a while ago switching to Canon was a major pain, switching back to Nikon is going to be an even bigger pain because I have a lot more glass. Also, I'm sure the recent/current lenses will be fine at that resolution but I want to wait and see about earlier lenses.

One more thing - the new Tamron 24-70 VC may change things a bit too. Tamron has really been improving and that new lens looks promising.

I did some reading on that lens too. It definitely looks promising. :)

So, I go looking for Nikon glass. What is up with that? All the FF stuff is out of stock everywhere.

Ever since D800 was announced
B&H do restock them often but it will be gone in half a day!

I think I have plenty of time. Even though I didn't buy the E I'm sure I'm way down the list.

Dang you! Don't say that! Both sides are very appealing to me. I don't shoot past ISO 3200 and if the D800 performs well up until ISO 6400, I may switch. All of my needs are filled with both models... Nikon's DR is also very appealing since I shoot lots of brides and use strobes more and more. This is going to be soooo hard!

I'm confident in the D800. The samples I've seen are very good. DO IT!! :p;)

I'll be paying a bit more out of pocket after selling my gear used... Nikon glass is a little bit more expensive as well. Then again, I've been eying the Sigma 85... It's pretty dern sharp!
