Safe to take out clamp from Kirk BH3?

Hey guys, quirky question here.

I've got a DSLR video project that requires me to change from different brands of tripod heads multiple times during the shoot.

I already have a clamp like this on one of my tripod plates:

I'm not quite sure what you're asking, but most clamps use a 1/4 or 3/8 inch screw to secure them to the ball stem. The Markins clamps are good quality, they use a 3/8"-16 threaded screw.

Those both look like A-S clamps. So you could use either of them with your camera/lens seamlessly. But you're not making it all that clear as to what you want to do. Replace the clamp on a fluid head for the shoot? Change orientation of the head during a shoot?

Do you have the Kirk clamp in the first pic along with the clamp on your BH3 (2 different clamps)? If so, you could attach the first clamp to the QR plate of the other (fluid?) head. Then you could attach your camera to either head without having to replace the Markins plate that's already on your camera.
