$2299 is a much more reasonable price (That is the expected STREET price of the camera, the other $3300 is Sigma's MSRP which is always grossly expensive)

Though I do feel its too little, too late...and i think you're still stuck using Sigma's software which is a dog

They can do that because this "existing SD1 customer" base can likely be counted on one's fingers.

Haha! I think they screwed up from the very start, and the FF Nikon D800 has just rendered their camera completely pointless; if it even needed that. Luminous Landscape nailed it on the head:

The new DP cameras sure, but just to change the price of an existing camera could be done over drinks. Sigma was supposedly quite patriarchal when the senior Yamaki was running the company. Sounds like more reasoned voices have prevailed now that his son is in charge.
