I recently set up a blind in order to capitalize on some ground birds I've seen around a landscaped "island". Maybe it was because it was later at night when I was processing these, but several titles/captions came to mind. If you'll bear w/my humor, I hope you'll at least enjoy the images......

The first 2 images are of a Brown Thrasher. They are a favorite of mine both as the State bird of Georgia and a member of the Family Mimidae.

OH NO! There's that dude with the camera again. Maybe if I look the other way he won't see me....

DOH!!! Too late, he saw me!

Yes, he can goofy-foot it too!

Thank you for looking in and tolerating my "late night" humor. Hopefully you'll be moved enough to leave comments, critiques, and criticisms.

Since I stumbled upon some little ones myself, I have a new appreciation for those photographing them. The first three shots tell me not to dispair if I can't get a little Wren to come out in the open. That others are dealing with the same problem! :) As to your captions, Steve: who knows, maybe they are thinking just that!
The third shot is really great, sitting relaxed like that, peaking out of those big leaves, seemingly watching you. And the last two are simply very good.
Or I could just have said: A great set. 'Cause that's what it is!

Another group of nice subjects you have there Steve! Looks like the blind idea is a good one. Lighting/shadow is a little harsh but hey, with subjects like these, i'd take it any day. ;)
You sure have talent to be a standup comic. Have u thought of that? Or perhaps you are a retired standup comic?

Really good shots Steve. That blind is really going to pay off if these are any indication.

Thanks az; I knew there'd be a few who understood what I was getting at - :)

Your kind words are much appreciated Levina. Sometimes when bird meets brush we can only click away and hope.

You're a card too Fee, but a nice one for understanding my attempts at humor. I'm thinking the blind was way overdue.

#3 is a little cutie even if they do eat me out of house and home. I appreciate your compliments Eric.

Thank you Don. I'm thinking the blind is a good step towards spreading my "wings" a bit.
