Ladies and Gentlemen,

I have a beautful B&W Kaesemann MRC CPL filter I use on my 24-105 that i would love to use on my 100L for reef tank macro shots where light glares....

I am having trouble finding the correct ring to allow me to do so...

the filter is 77mm and the 100L is 67mm...

Will this fit the 67mm lens and allow for the 77mm filter??? (external link)

its kind of confusing lol

"This B+W Step Up Ring enables a filter with an attachment size of 77mm to be used with a lens with an attachment size of 67mm."

Yep, that'll do it.

I'm happy with the trusty craftsmanship of B&W. Read reviews on the "general brand" that threads were tight or wrong size, sme got stuck :/

Another trick you might want to try... Get a nice deep, 67mm flexible rubber lens hood... or even use use a step ring to get a larger one: 72mm or 77mm. Press the hood tight up against the glass of the aquarium and it will eliminate any glare. You can flex the hood to different angles as needed.

The reason B+W don't get stuck is they are made from brass, rather than aluminum. Well, at least their better lines of filters and accessories are. Aluminum galls against other metals. Brass doesn't. Most lenses today have plastic threads, so there's not much concern about filters or step rings getting stuck on there... but filter-to-filter or filter-to-step ring, brass is better.

I'd recommend saving a few bucks and getting yourself a beautiful 67mm B&W polarizer and skip the step rings altogether...can be a real PITA when it comes to separating a rotating filter from a step ring. Separate filters makes things easier...

Yea, OP said the thread was dead, but since it's been revived, I second this.

I got the step-up ring and it welds itself to the polarizer. Once I even took it into a shop and they got it off then tested it with a little lubricant and then got it stuck and couldn't remove it. Eventually a day later it just came off easily.

Sometimes it is OK, but basically the ring, although metal, has some flex, so when it gets a little stuck you cannot grab it hard. Finally I figured out a method (two rubber bands and gentile working loose), but in the end I just got another polarizer. I convinced myself that because it was for the 70-200 I didn't need as much flare resistance and got a cheaper B&W and am happy with it.

Well I already have the beautiful B&W ksm MRC cpl... But @ 77mm, that's why I'd rather get a B&W ring instead of another $140 filter lol...
