I have a 40D and I'm thinking of getting this cheap lens just to get some wider shots, at the moment the closest thing to wide I have is my 18-55 and I'm hoping this will get wider shots. I'm curious as to how it will perform on a cropped sensor majority of the pictures samples I see are on a full frame camera and I know that they can get wider than my 40D. Advice and possibly some sample pictures are appreciated

what makes you think a 19mm lens will be wider than an 18mm lens?

if you want wider for cheap...maybe one of those samyang 14mm?

18mm is wider than 19mm. forget about the sensor sizes and just go by the numbers.

Well I figured that, but I didn't know since it's says super-wide or wide that maybe it's the way the lens is made offering a wider shot.

18 is not terribly wide on a crop sensor. I don't think a used Sigma 10-20 will be very expensive at all.
