Your Realistic 3-5 Lens Collection

16-35 F4L IS
24-70 F2.8L II
70-200 F2.8 IS II or in my case the tamron 70-200 F2.8 VC
100-400L

It's interesting to go back a few pages and read what users list for their "realistic" lenses and then looking at their signature below which shows what they have presently.

A lot have changed up their lenses that they posted back then, while others do still use the same ones .

For me :
- 16-35 f/4 IS
- 24-70 II -> got it
- 70-200 II -> got it
- Sigma 50 f/1.4 Art
- 100 f/2.8 Macro

The most expensive half is already in the bag

It would be difficult for me to have only 5 lenses , but if it would be the case I would take :

- TS-E 24mm II: got it, my most used lens (landscape/urban/long exposures)
- Siggy 35mm f/1.4: would replace my Canon 35 f/2+Siggy 50mm f/1.4
- Samy 85mm f/1.4: got it, indoor portraits
- 70-200L f/4: got it, outdoor portraits
- Siggy 150mm Macro: got it: Macro

Now I'm shooting with: 24L, S35A, S50A, 85 1.8, 135L. It's been a long road, but I eventually came back to all primes.

17-40/4
70-200/4 IS
35 /1.8 USM IS

In an ideal world, if I were to go FF,

- Canon 16-35mm f/4 IS
- Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 II
- Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 IS II (own it)
- Carl Zeiss Otus 55mm f/1.4
- Canon 300mm f/2.8 IS II

1. 70-200 2.8 IS2
2. 16-35 f2.8
3. Sigma 35mm 1.4 or sigma 50 1.4

What I have but add the Sigma 120-300 plus both tele converters.

I'm liking the five I chose:
16-35 f/4 IS
24-70 II
70-300L
100L
300 2.8L IS

(I also chose 135L, 50 1.4, Bower 14, but those are much to somewhat lesser players as for usage.)

(a 17 and 24II T&S and MPE would be nice though as well as an 800mm , if push came to shove, perhaps I could see Bower 14mm+24II T&S replacing the 16-35 f/4 IS if the list had to be down to 6 and I actually owned the T&S)

No idea which lens could be the 5., because everything I need is covered by 4 lenses. Or less.
