My current 4 lens setup

Canon 10-22
Canon 17-40 L
Canon 24-105 L
Canon 70-300mm

My plan is to replace the 70-300 with either a 80-200 F2.8 L or a 70-200 F4 IS L. I'd also like to get the Tamron 150-600mm lens (better bang for the buck than the Canon 100-400L).

My realistic 3 lens collection:
17-40 f/4 L
85 f/1.8
135 f/2 L

I have two out of three now, the third one is meant for Christmas ;). I am using the 17-40 and the 85 for travel photography, that would turn to the 17-40 and the 135. The 5d will be able to handle panorama's better that way.

5 lens setup is a bit harder.
17-40mm f/4L
TS/E 17mm - I've found that the UWA distortion limited me to shooting with the horizon in the middle and it's a bit restricting to me. This'll be a rental for a while!
35mm f/1.4 either Canon or Sigma. I'm moving to professional work and then Canon is a bit more assuring. I love 35mm, and it's great for shooting indoors.
85mm f/1.8
135mm f/2

Canon 5d, 60d, 17-40mm L, 30mm Art, 50mm, 85mm

I've been whittling my collection just at four:

1. TS-E 17mm f/4L
2. TS-E 24mm f/3.5L II
3. Zeiss Otus 1.4/55mm ZE
4. EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM

I may add a fifth all-purpose lens, which would either be a 24-70mm or a 16-35mm. I've bought and sold a number of lenses searching for my best fit, and I'm finally nearly there. My satisfaction level with what I have is very very high, and my lens GAS has dropped to an all-time low. :)

I need to build mine back up but my dream set up that I think would finally make me happy is
Canon 70-200mm 2.8
Canon 24-70mm 2.8
Sigma 50 1.4 art
Sigma 85mm
And I will keep my old 24-105 as it has served me well
possible a 35mm

Let me know what you think of my site please

Update with what I actually use in order of usage...

Canon 50 f/1.2L
Canon 16-35 f/4L
Tamron AF 70-300 f/4.0-5.6 SP Di VC USD XLD

I should probably sell everything else I have; and upgrade the Tamron to a Canon to get better AF. (mostly used at the dog park for action shots)

I like what I have: 24-105, 70-200 f4 is, 70-300 is usm, 50 1.8 and 35 2.0. Plus a 1.4 extender gives me 420 on the 70-300. I also have a Sig 105 but I ain't counting that since the max is 5! Or I could count it instead of the 50 or the 35 which are pretty close together. I have two bodies: a 5Dc and a 40D.

Man, I've been taking this lightweight thing a little too seriously

my landscape collection, still heavy, but that cant change

16-35mm F4 IS L
70-200mm F2.8 VC

however, my "New to me" lightweight kit

FDn 50mm F1.4
FDn 135mm F2.8

I'm giving up a stop on the tele in favor of a lighter lens. both lenses together weigh less than the 135L on it's own. Basically my point and shoot combo, with my previous pns being 50L + 135L. Transitioning to lighter gear, and based on my limited use, the FDn 50mm seems to have great color rendition, very similar to high quality lenses from canon.

the difference between F1.4 and F1.2, I can live with, but F2.8 and F2....... I will have to see. REALLY LOVE the 135L (Probably will keep both 50L and 135L as well) and I'll have to see how long I can get away without that extra stop. If all fails, I'll grab the FDn 135mm F2 (gain of 300 grams :( and not exactly inexpensive).

Canon 16-35L f4
Canon 24-105L (because I think it's the perfect walk around lens, I just wish they made a 2.8 version)

Tokina 11-16 f/2.8 (I own)
100mm f/2.8 (I own but I would like to swap for the L IS version)
24-105 IS L (Getting in the not to distant future)
100-400 IS L (as above)
300 IS L f/2.8 (thinking of getting the f/4 IS L though until funds allow)

That to me, would be spot on, perfect for travelling, air shows etc.

I'm looking at getting a FF body next, so I would need a 50mm & 24mm prime too...

3-5 lenes eh? OK I'll play (I'm a crop shooter so my lenses will reflect that)

Tokina 11-16mm f2.8
Sigma 18-35mm f1.8
Sigma 50-150mm f2.8 OS

Sigma 120-300mm f2.8 OS

Honestly have a hard time picking a 5th. Can I uses two TC's as my 5th lens?? If not I think I'd just pick the 2X TC as my 5th
