Including my current lenses and others I'd like to add on a crop camera.

1# Tamron 17-50mm 2.8 II
2# Canon 50mm 1.8 II
3# Canon 70-200mm 2.8 IS or Sigma 70-200mm F2.8 II
4# Canon 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5
5# Canon 300mm f/2.8L IS (not really realist but would be perfect for sports)

16-35 f/2.8L
24-70 f/2.8L
70-200 f/2.8L
400 f/2.8L

Trying to think of a prime for good measure... 85 f/1.2L or 35 f/1.4L probably :)

A realistic-ish line up (for the near future):
24-70 f/2.8L
70-200 f/2.8L
50 f/1.4 (if I feel like it).

I like the way you think  The 50 f/1.4 is probably going to be my next purchase, and will round out my 3 lens kit:

  • 24-70 f/2.8
  • 70-200 f/2.8
  • 50 f/1.4
I would put the 10-22 on there, but my gf bought it already and as such, I am off the hook on that one :)

My current ideal "realistic" setup, which would basically cover up to 80% of my shooting needs, for both FF and crop:

16-35 f/2.8L II
24-70 f/2.8L
70-200 f/2.8L IS
85 f/1.8
100-400L IS

I think these 5 i could live with

16-35 2.8 L
24-70 2.8 L
70-200 2.8 IS L
300 2.8 IS L
800 5.6 IS L

Would have me covered from Wide to silly long :)

Additional to these would Have to be a TSE-24 and a the MP-e65

Currently have a
Sigma 24-70 2.8
Sigma 70-200 2.8
Tamron 300 2.8

Just have to swap these to the canon equivilents and im half way there...oh and win the lottery first!!

My realistic list would be what I have already, with a slight change

1. Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 (I currently have the Wigma instead)
2. Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8
3. Sigma 100-300mm f/4

4. Sigma 50 1.4
5. Canon 200mm f/2.8

If I were to upgrade I would swap out the Tamron for a 17-55IS, upgrade the 100-300 f/4 to a 120-300 f/2.8, and upgrade the 200L for a 500L f/4

I've worked hard to get what I have, I think I don't want/need anything else.....for now, a cruise to Alaska next year might make me rethink.

1) Canon EF-S 10-22
2) Canon 24-105L IS
3) Canon 70-200L IS
4)Sigma 30 1.4
5) Canon 85 1.8

Don't really care for my 50, but for the price whats the point it selling it, might as well keep it as a paperweight, or a spare...

how much you want for it? I need a donor lens for a project and don't want to pay more than 40 bucks for it.

My wife and I share lenses which is ideal. between the two of us we have:

Tokina 11-16 2.8
Canon 24-70 2.8L
Canon 75-300 4-5.6
Canon 100 2.8 macro
Canon 50 1.8

I feel like we have things pretty well covered. Someday I would Like to upgrade the 75-300 to a 70-200 2.8L but otherwise I am pretty happy.

Realistically, I want to end up with:

Canon 10-22mm
Canon 28-135mm
Canon 100-400mm L
Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro

However it would be nice to have these to replace the 28-135 and 10-22

Canon 17-40mm L
Canon 24-105mm L

The fifth one would have to be a very long prime > 400mm

16-35L
24-70L
70-200 2.8 L IS

And either a 100-400L or a 150-500.

Right now, I'd have to say:

Sigma 12-24 f/4
Canon 24-70 2.8L
Canon 100-400L
Canon 35 1.4L
Canon 85 1.2L

...but that can change in a heartbeat.
