I couldn't agree more. Switch the 17-85 for the 17-40 and that's my list (see my sig)!

The only lens I currently have in my possession is the 24-105/4.

Soon I will be adding the following:
70-200/4 IS--I just bought my Dad's, as he's moving to a 70-200/2.8 IS. I don't have it yet, but will be getting it when I go to see him and Mom in Tennessee Labor Day weekend. :)
Tokina 12-24/4--I've currently got my eye on a few used copies for sale on Fleabay, so I'm hoping to pick one up for a really good price in the next few days. :)

Down the road a bit (I hope to pick up at least one of these sometime around Christmas, if not before--whatever isn't added then will be added sometime in the next year):
--100/2.8 macro
--50/2.5 compact macro
--1.4x TC (I don't really count it as a lens, but as an accessory to the 70-200 ;))

I eventually want to go FF and when I do, I'll simply swap out the 12-24 for a FF UWA, most likely one with a red ring. ;)

Heather :)

70-200 4L IS
100 F2
135 F2
200 2.8

With both a 1DMK2 and a 40D I have things pretty covered I think with good glass. I have to admit I am thinking about a 10-22 for the 40D and a 300 4L IS

For FF, and I tend to prefer primes:

The 5 lenses I own and use most (in descending order of use): 35L, 24L, 70-200/4IS, 85/1.8, 50/1.4
If I could have just 3: 24L, 35L, 70-200/4IS
If just 3 zoom: 16-35L, 24-70L, 70-200/4IS
If just 4: 24L, 35L, 85L, 70-200/4IS
If just 5: 24L, 35L, 50L, 85L, 70-200/4IS
If just 5 blended zoom/prime: 16-35L, 24-70L, 70-200/4IS, 35L, 85L

And if I could have just one: 35L

Gear: 5D2, 20D, 24LII, 24/2.8, 35L, 35/2, 50/1.4, 85/1.8, 70-200/4 L IS, 430EXII, misc. film cameras and other goodies.
