This makes those of us who still shoot film VERY happy!

"Raw" is not an acronym, abbreviation, nor a proper noun; thus, it should not be in capital letters.

I can't say they are making good decisions.

Who's in charge over there, Montgomery Burns?

Digital? Film is the future, Smithers!

I'm glad they're still making film, but getting out of the digital photography business doesn't sound like a good move...

I wonder who's going to make the Leica M10 sensor... or sensors for future M9s.

I can't believe it, but i have to agree with Chet. This is not a decision for long term success.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

There are a lot more users of "film" than simply photographers...

Medical Imaging is one area that's not going away anytime soon.

There current thinking will be the death dagger. Sure they will cater to the casual film junky that wants to burn a roll once a year, but this won't make them a fortune 500 company. The spiral will be fast and costly. I don't envy those working for such an old school thinking mentality.

I can probably say RIP right now.

Except that, these days, X-ray plates used for medical imaging are all digital!

You take the X-ray, stick the plate into the machine, the machine reads it, then the plate is ready to be used again.

Do you think they're seeing a bump in film sales from hipsters and thinking that its a trend rather than a fad?

Heck, even animal hospitals are using digital x-rays these days as are most dentists.

Film will probably exist for quite a while as a niche product. But I just can't see how a company the size of Kodak can continue to exist as a niche player.

Tools: 70D, 10-22, Tamron 24-70 VC, 70-300L, 135 f2L

Also, most of the film being shot nowadays is medium/large format landscape photography, rather than 35mm format, fashion, sports or portraiture.

Many of these photographers favour Fujifilm Velvia - not made by Kodak!
