i typically don't use a tripod, but i am going on a cruise and would like to get one to use while on vacation..
looking for osmething that i can pack - can hold a 7D and a 24-105...
any recommendations?

After reading all of the great advice on this forum (and a lot of help from Ben R's posts), I bought a Gitzo 3541 w/ a Markins M-20 ...and... a Gitzo 1541 with a Markins Q3T. Those were the first tripods I've ever purchased and I'm fairly certain I won't be buying another one for a very, very long time.
